We have another teenager in the house!!

Emily turned 13 on the 2nd of January.  She has the best birthdate to remember 01-02-03!  She was a real trooper to share her big day with the Salfers and our Christmas get together.  She will admit it wasn't the most fun of birthdays but the stop at DQ on the way home did make her smile a bit.  The tricky part was trying to find a time to celebrate.  It seemed like weekends were already planned.  So after my doctor appointment she and I went to get pedicures and Frozen Yogurts.  As a family we went to eat at Olive Garden and she was able to have one friend stay overnight and watch Avengers.  Grandma and Grandpa Tom came to visit and drop off a present and we got a DQ cake (her favorite).  So even though all these things were spread out over a few days she did end up having a pretty good birthday.

Emily is one of the most helpful kids I know.  She is beautiful inside and out.  Smart in school and can get along with pretty much anyone and isn't afraid to meet and find new friends.  She also isn't afraid to try things, just maybe has to think about it a little bit longer.  She is helpful around the house with chores and with her younger sisters..most of the time.  She loves her new iPod and has a hard time putting it down, which is something she's going to learn the hard way.  Emily has always been a compassionate person and its probably one of the things I love most about her.  Lauren adores her,  She also is a pretty amazing piano player and it's always fun to listen to her.  She's very creative and loves to paint and is now getting into sewing.  That will definitely come in handy when I need her to fix something for me..I did not get the gift of sewing skills!  We love you Emily!!

Oh and this happened too!  Braces came off!!!
