March Endings

Ok, so I left off quite a while ago and there has been a TON of things that have happened in the last 2-1/2 months so lets begin with the end of March...

The 2nd grade class led mass and Rachel had the honor of being the Lector.  She did a fabulous job and she looked super cute! :)

We had Kindergarten round-up for Natalie, which she absolutely loved and is so excited to start!  She's pictured here with two new friends, Noel and Reagan.  I think shes going to have a really fun Kindergarten year!  The class looks to be a little heavy on the girl side but we're used to that!

Some silly random photos i thought were cute... Lauren after eating an Oreo

And Natalie and Lauren hanging out with mom watching some cartoons...

The last week of March brought some pretty nice weather and when Brian was off studying the girls and I headed to the park to have a little fun...maybe a little too much fun... Lauren's first time swinging (not as an infant) was a memorable one!  She loved it so much that she puked all over herself and the swing from laughing so hard.  I had nothing along to wipe the puke up with so I used her sweatshirt.  She also had it all over her pants so I stripped her down to her onsie and our park fun ended.  Good times....:)

Science Fair

Emily did a fantastic job on her Science Fair project this year and is heading back to Regionals again in April!  She was super excited-not necessarily that she's going but that she and two of her good friends are too!  Her project was on Insulation-which kind insulates the best.  I think for the most part she enjoyed her project-making the insulation molds with her Dad=FUN, Research and Dad asking questions=NOT FUN.  Yes, I do sort of help.  Only at the end of the project.  I'm around for spell checking, finding scrapbook paper, helping with the layout and thats about it.  Just my kind of participation for this sort of thing. :)

Middle School Play-Treasure Island

Caitlin decided not to take a winter sport but instead participate in the Middle school play.  I love that she wants to do different things, both athletic and arts.  This years play was Treasure Island.  We rented the movie from the library and watched it as a family and none of us were impressed, but like most movies, they're not the same as a play or the book.  This play was WAY more entertaining than the movie!  We knew some of the kids and met some of the friends Caitlin has made in 7th grade-a good bunch of kids.  The play was short and sweet-1hr.  Caitlin played the part of Queen Mahi Mahi, queen of the natives.  She had some speaking parts and she got carried around on a throne(which she loved) She also helped on the crew, making and painting the sets, which she really liked doing.

Emily

Emily's been having quite the year at JI.  She finally got a character of the month award (Rachel got one back in October) and she played basketball which I think she actually enjoyed.  The team celebrated their end of the season (a losing one..no wins) with a parent vs. kids game, awards and a pizza party.  Even though the girls didn't win a game they still smiled and had a lot of fun and had a winning attitude. (thanks coaches).  She also got a glimpse into a 6th graders life, getting to do line leading duties, while the 6th grade was on an extended field trip to Wolf Ridge.  She along with the other 5th graders found out pretty quickly that they are not always respected or listened to.  Huh? Kind of like being a parent?  She and 3 others shared responsibility for the Kdg class which you'd think would be the easiest.. Not this class..these kids aren't shy coming into a new school and aren't afraid of being the littlest!

Lauren is ONE!

Our sweet sweet Lauren is ONE!!  She is such a joy to our whole family!
We celebrated her big day with Grandparents and her Godparents.  She wasn't all that excited about her cupcake but LOVED her garlic breadstick.  Perhaps she won't have a sweet tooth like the rest of the girls? Speaking of teeth she only has two!  One popped thru about 2 weeks before she turned one and the other popped out right around her birthday.  She also had her year check up and her stats are:
18 lbs 15 oz
(she's right in the middle of where her sisters were at this age)
27-3/4"
(2nd shortest only to Natalie)
Head size-99% on the charts
(dr. says size like dad, brains like mom)

Lauren finally getting to play with her new drums from the Lindbo's. :)

On Lauren's actual birthdate, she wanted to go to El Agave for guacomole and also wanted her parents to enjoy a margarita.  :)  We met her Godparents, Jeff and Heather and their kiddos for a yummy dinner.  It was a busy night..STP boys were playing bball subsection game and Caitlin was in the Middle School Play.

Snow, Snow Go Away

We have had way too many days off of school since the beginning of the year due to extreme cold and SNOW.  I really don't want to complain, but enough is enough.  At this rate we won't see the grass until June!  But, with the fresh fallen 5 inches and warm temperature the girls and I actually enjoyed going out to shovel, build a snowfort and have a little snow ball fight.
lauren not too sure about this white stuff!
