March 2018

March came in like a lion and will hopefully leave like a lamb!  St. Peter received 7-8" of fresh fluffy white stuff and the kids didn't complain!  The chickens may have however!  It was nice to see but really we are ready for spring!

Lillian not afraid to climb up on and jump off of anything she can....let's hope we can get thru childhood with no broken bones.

Rachel's 6th grade project for the LOI Live Auction!  What a fun, fun project!  It was super fun to put together even though we put a lot of time into it.  The 6th graders did a great job coming up with all the property names, chance questions and community chest questions.  I think it pulled in over $400!

This was the 3rd graders project- a cool "artsy" puzzle.  This was also fun to make!

Our bookends-twinsies with pig tails

Grandpa and Grandma Salfer
Natalie's before and after at the LOI Fun Run!  She did great!  It was sooo cold!

Lilly and Lauren having a little fun at Johnson Hall during a "preview" of the auction items

Our selfie queen...Rachel likes to take random selfies on our phones.  Sometimes they are quite beautiful like this one and other times just plain silly!

Chasing away some winter blues at the Children's museum in Mankato!  We love this place!

Rachel was chosen (3rd place) in the Catholic Daughter's Essay contest.  Here she got to read her essay to the school.  1st place was Jared and 2nd was Brooke.

Ok, spring.....Easter is here!  Lillian actually had fun decorating this year and had to do it by herself, a common theme with this one.  The girls are so organized in how they set up colors and the designs the choose for their eggs.  It's quite impressive.

Gymnastics Banquet March 26, 2018
What a fun evening filled with tears and uplifting words from Coach Kris.  Both the girls know they aren't the greatest at gymnastics but they plug away improving ever so slightly and learning new skills being coached by one of the best.  She loves what she does and she loves the kids!

Lauren is FIVE!

Happy Birthday Lauren Mary!!!!  You're 5!
We started off the day with donuts and flowers from Dad and in the evening Lauren picked Bonfire for dinner.  We celebrated the next day with her Godparents, Jeff and Heather and kids at our house with dinner and cake.  We didn't have a gathering with Grandparents because my parents had left for Arizona already.  Lauren is excited now that shes 5 she gets to start Kindergarten in the fall at JI!  Lauren is kind, joyful, loves to play with Legos and her sisters.  She loves preschool with Miss Kate and all her friends at Little Angels.

February 2018

Caitlin and Emily competing together in Gymnastics

Lauren, Lilly and I having some fun at the Mall in Mankato on a day when Lauren doesn't have preschool.  The girls love playing at the germ-infested play area for some reason😳  And every once in a while we run into friends that have the same idea of fun!

Having fun at JI with the student council helping with Mardi Gras party!  It was Dino-Mite! (dinosaur themed)

And last but not least, Emily passed her drivers permit exam!  Another Salfer on the road!

Gymnastics Meets!

Lillian turns 2!

Lilly on her "birth" day                             Lilly at 1 year

Well despite Lillian being a little under the weather, she had a good birthday and was happy all day.  She picked out her kitty birthday decorations and was super excited when she woke up and saw it all on the table.  We've been talking about her birthday for awhile now but I don't really think it had clicked with her until the day of her birthday when she got to blow out the candles and open presents.  We were able to have both sets of grandparents, our old neighbors Mike and Irene and Lillian's Godparents, Jeff and Sharon and their kids here to celebrate Lilly.

Lillian is truly a gift to our family.  She is sweet and spicy.  She is stubborn and strong willed.  She is adored by her sisters.  She is infatuated with everyone's phone which annoys me.  She loves kitty's, playing house with Lauren, going on coffee dates with Jen, shopping with mom, reading books with dad, playing slime with Rachel and Natalie and watching Caitlin and Emily at gymnastics and doing gymnastics with them.  She loves to play with play-doh, color and paint and play with LEGO's.  She loves to help Brian with any project he's working on whether he needs the help or not.  She loves to play outside and "help" get the eggs from the chickens.  She keeps us all on our toes and helps us all to learn patience.  We just all LOVE her so much!  Happy Birthday sweet Lillian Eileen!

Emily's 15th Birthday!

Emily.  She's 15.  How did that happen?  She's so close to becoming the next licensed driver in our family.  Emily is still our brown haired beauty.  She's still everyone's favorite, or at least most of the time!  She's a freshman in high school.  A tennis player, gymnast, and golfer.  A straight A student.  A huge helper when she's not on her electronic device.  She's kind, a good friend and just alot of fun to be around.  For Emily's birthday this year we went out to eat quickly before heading to gymnastics practice.  She chose 3rd Street Tavern here in St. Peter.  Then on the weekend she invited some friends to go to a movie and hang out at the mall for a bit.  Finally last weekend, while celebrating Lillian's bday, she got her cake and celebrated with her grandparents.

January 2018

Well, I think I pretty much came to the conclusion that I will never catch up where I left off on this blog.  It was meant for me to track all that was happening with the family so that one day when I had a bunch of time I could make a scrapbook.  Well that too is WAY behind and I'm hoping that I haven't completely forgot all that we did and the memories we made.  Hopefully the pictures that I did take will jog my memory when I need to remember.  So I am moving forward with 2018 and going to try and keep current and in my "spare" time will go back and add in the prior years photos and posts.  For crying out loud I have a 6th child with hardly any posts!   Oh dear.......she's so deprived. ;)
